Meet Our Team
Elmer Dixon started in the custom home building business, in 1968, working in all aspects of the business with a local Raleigh builder for 15 years. This experience opportunity allowed Elmer to branch out on his own as a custom builder for 38 years. He loves to build a relationship with the client before building a quality dream home for them. Elmer continues to work within the framework of the God given talents, core beliefs, and gifts he has been blessed with in order to serve alongside with his business partner, the employees, associates, and subcontractors.
Elmer lives in Cary NC with his lovely wife of 54 years. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, and are blessed with seven grandchildren. He enjoys his family, handyman projects, bicycling, boating, traveling and last but not least serving the Lord in his church in a leadership role. “Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders labor in vain” -Psalm 127:1

Eric is a North Carolina native. After graduating from Appalachian State University in 1988 with a business major and architectural drafting minor, he began his career with a Charlotte area home builder. In 1993, after several years of superintending new home construction, he relocated to the Raleigh area to start a family owned and operated business, which produced and sold architectural millwork products to home builders across the Triangle area and nationally. In 2010 he began a transition back into home building and renovations. EDK Design Build was founded in 2015, which focuses on custom home building and renovations. Eric’s 35+ years of combined experience across home building, renovations and architectural millwork manufacturing equips him to work well for the most discriminating of home owners.
Eric enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife, their 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Some of his other favorite activities include RV camping, yard work, motorcycling, and going on mission trips to share the love Christ with others.
Dan is a North Carolina Native and has been with EDK since its inception. Dan has 35 years of experience in metal manufacturing and security equipment. As part of a family owned and operated business, Dan worked with Eric for 18 years in producing and selling millwork products to home builders across the Triangle area. His experience and attention to detail serves our customers well in the field and is an essential part of delivering quality homes.
Dan lives in Raleigh with his wife, Margaret, of 63 years. He has been blessed with 2 sons and 12 grandchildren. Dan is an active church member and has served in many capacities, including as a deacon and usher.
Allison was born and raised in Cary, NC. After earning a degree in Interior Design, she began work in the kitchen and bath industry before working with an architectural design company. Allison has 10 years combined experience in Kitchen & Bath and Architectural Design. Throughout the building process, she assists our customers with selections, scheduling and budgeting. Her goal is to help them make their vision come to life. "I have a passion for creating beautiful homes that are also functional. Since it is a custom home, we are able to start at the beginning to make sure each home is designed to not only be beautiful, but to fit each client's lifestyle."
Allison lives in Fuquay Varina, NC with her husband, Seth, and 4 kids. She enjoys spending time with her family, serving at church and reading.
